Our Practice

Welcome To Mindful Mental and Behavioral Health PLLC

We are a group of therapists, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs), and office staff who are genuinely passionate about what we do. We deeply value our clients and work to ensure that they feel safe and supported in addressing their mental health. Our providers take the time to get to know the individuals we work with, tailoring the length, frequency, and objectives of each session to meet our clients’ needs.

A Treatment Approach That Honors Your Unique Experiences

The care you receive through Mindful Mental and Behavioral Health PLLC is evidence-based and rooted in best practices. While our therapists offer non-pharmacological interventions including psychotherapy and counseling, our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) are licensed to prescribe psychiatric medications.

Our goal is to empower you to determine the best course of treatment for you. Some of our specialties include:

Your therapist or PMHNP will collaborate with you to determine if you meet the criteria of diagnosis for any of these conditions. Once a treatment plan is established, they will provide you with effective interventions—including therapeutic techniques, stress management skills, and/or psychiatric medication management services—to help reduce symptoms.

What To Expect

To get started, you can conveniently self-schedule a free consult with one of our therapists. If you need assistance, please contact our office assistant at (207) 316-2609.

If you are interested in working with our mental health specialists after your free consult, we will schedule an intake session. Typically lasting about 60 minutes, intake sessions are used to help providers obtain as much relevant information about your condition as possible. In assessing some of the factors that may be affecting your mental health—such as medical history, family history, and socio-developmental history—we can better understand your symptoms and experience.

If a diagnosis is formulated through the evaluation period, we will take time to assess your knowledge of the diagnosis, answer any questions you have, and begin to develop a treatment plan. Multiple sessions may be required to complete a thorough intake and determine the next steps.

We Specialize In Therapy And Medication Management Services

Your therapist and PMHNP will continue to evaluate your mental health throughout ongoing sessions. If, for example, you are working with one of our therapists, therapeutic techniques for coping and emotion regulation may be incorporated into treatment. And if you are working with one of our PMHNPs for medication management, your PMHNP will monitor your response to medications, check for side effects, and adjust medication types and dosages as needed.

We invite you to visit our Therapy and Counseling page or our Medication Management page to learn more.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Practice

Are sessions in-person or online?

Sessions are conducted primarily online via telehealth. If you are interested in meeting with a provider in-person, please contact our office at (207) 316-2609 to discuss availability for in-person sessions.

Do you accept insurance?

  • In general, we accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (Anthem, Premera, Regence, etc.), First Choice Health, Kaiser, PacificSource, and Providence. That said, the insurances our providers work with can vary from provider to provider. To learn what insurances a provider accepts, please visit their About page or contact us. In addition, we recommend that you check with your insurance company prior to initiating services to ensure we are in-network and to determine your patient responsibility for sessions. If at any time we discover we are not in-network with your insurance, you will be responsible for the full costs of all sessions (past and future).

  • We do not accept Medicaid and Medicare.

  • We do not work with EAPs.

  • In addition to the accepted insurances listed above, our services are available to self-pay clients and those with out-of-network benefits.

What are your rates?

  • For individuals using insurance to cover appointments, the cost of appointments is determined by each insurance’s contracted rates with our organization. Thus, the cost of appointments may be notably different than the cost of appointments for individuals who are self-pay. Furthermore, the cost of appointments may vary from session to session depending on several factors to include the length of the appointment and the complexity of the appointment. If you plan to use insurance, our office can provide a better estimate of costs once you provide your insurance information. Please contact us at (207) 316-2609 if you require further assistance.

  • For individuals who are self-pay:

    • Rates vary depending on type of service (therapy vs. medication management) and length of session. Please contact our office for additional information.

What methods of payment do you accept?

Payments are completed through our patient portal. Payments can be made using major credit/debit cards (American Express, Visa, Mastercard, etc.) as well as FSAs and HSAs.

Do I pay before or after my appointment?

Our policy is to collect payments before rendering services. However, we cannot always predict the cost of sessions in advance because services and length of sessions may vary from appointment to appointment. For clients using insurance, you will likely be responsible for either a co-pay or for paying the full costs of sessions until your deductible is met. Please ensure you fully understand your insurance benefits to prevent future billing concerns.

Regardless of your insurance status and payment method, we will always be as up-front with you as possible about the cost of treatment.

How quickly will I be able to meet with a therapist or PMHNP once a match is made?

  • Our therapist currently has immediate availability. To schedule a free consult with our therapist, please visit our scheduling page.

  • To inquire about medication management services with our PMHNP, please contact our office.

What is your cancellation and no-show policy?

Clients must cancel or reschedule appointments at least 48 hours before their appointment. If appointments are not canceled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice, or if clients do not show to their appointment, they will be self-pay rates. To ensure we treat all clients consistently and ethically and to be respectful of providers’ time, we must enforce our cancellation and no-show policy. Fees incurred for late cancellations and no shows are out-of-pockets expenses. They cannot be billed to insurance.
